Something that helps me get back on track, or helps me take a breath, is basketball. I am lucky enough that my church has it's own gym accessible at any time for me. I can at any time go there and play. Just me, myself, and I. Basketball has always been an outlet for stress, thinking, or to help me make a hard decision. What calms me is that it is silent, and all that can be heard is the bouncing of the ball. No outside force to influence it distract me from my goal.
We are getting older and having to take on more responsibility. We can always just handle everything at once, all the time, it's not good for us as humans. We all need something to redirect our inner feelings. We all need something to help is channel our deepest thoughts.
